A staged approach within a complex live environment allowed for minimal disruption.
St. John of God Hospital Murdoch (SJGHM) stands as a premier private health campus in Perth’s southern suburbs. Witnessing a surge in demand, St. John of God Health Care embarked on a transformative journey, necessitating additional Endoscopy Suites and a significant redesign of their Emergency Department.
Cooper & Oxley undertook the early works package for the Endoscopy unit and led the subsequent expansion, addressing current limitations by adding another procedure room, six recovery bays, reconfiguring storage, upgrading clean scope storage, and creating compliant decontamination areas.
The Emergency Department enhancements, also delivered by Cooper & Oxley, encompassed an expanded and refurbished waiting area, a new triage section, admissions space, examination rooms, an extended flight deck, and an upgraded ambulance entry.
Throughout the project, Cooper & Oxley’s focus remained steadfast on enhancing patient and caregiver experiences, optimising workflow efficiency, and mitigating infectious respiratory risks.
