This new 12 storey hotel tower is integrated with a refurbished two storey heritage building which occupies the front of the development to provide additional facilities for the hotel. Construction was undertaken within a highly constrained building envelope in a busy CBD location and implemented a site specific traffic management plan to ensure that materials scheduling and deliveries were accommodated within high traffic flows around the site. Cooper & Oxley were appointed on an Early Contractor Involvement basis to provide additional value engineering and budget feedback and our team were able to propose and implement a significant change to the planned methodology by introducing offsite manufactured “Pod’ style bathrooms which provided cost savings through a major reduction of the construction programme.
