A public face for the South Hedland Aboriginal arts collective

Completed in June 2021, the new multipurpose building was constructed on the existing Spinifex Hill Art Studio site on Kariyarra Country.

Home to the Spinifex Hill Artists, the multi-purpose space has formed an innovative addition to the Studio complex and has connected the local community and visitors with the Pilbara’s dynamic creative arts practice.

The building has a distinctive curved roof which forms a large open space with class 5 gallery walls for the display of art and sculptures. The curved gallery ceiling is clad with a rustic roof sheeting product and incorporates track lighting to fully showcase the display items.

Tackling challenges with foresight and agility.

Delivered on Kariyarra Country, this project posed unique regional challenges that our delivery team approached with utmost dedication and care. To ensure a smooth execution, our team prioritised  pre-planning in collaboration with our subcontractors. Together, we identified potential long lead items, addressed logistical complexities, and crafted proactive solutions before commencing work on site.

By adopting this proactive approach from the project’s outset, we were better equipped to navigate potential obstacles with efficiency and precision.
