A vital community facility now revamped for generations to come.

These major pool refurbishment works were undertaken in two stages. The first focused on the aging Leisure Pool, which allowed the 50m pool to remain open during the hot Perth summer.

The leisure pool was substantially upgraded with a dedicated toddler play area and a warm water pool designed for rehabilitation. Works also included walking and lap swimming lanes, with an improved ‘Learn to Swim’ teaching area, a dedicated toddlers play area, revitalised change rooms, and replacement of the air conditioning and ventilation systems.

Achieving superior outcomes requires a collaborative approach

Access and safety were key elements of the improved facility, with ramp entrances being constructed for both the leisure and 50m pools, while tactile pavers were installed to assist people who are visually impaired.

New acoustic treatments better manage noise levels, while improved indoor air quality ensures safety for all ages, genders and abilities.

Cooper & Oxley expertly managed the pool refurbishment project and were a pleasure to deal with. As Centre Manager, myself and my team liaised with site managers on a daily basis throughout the project. They were great to deal with, were understanding of the impact on us as an operating centre during construction, and we were able to form a respectful and effective relationship throughout the build. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with Cooper & Oxley again on future refurbishment projects.
