Critical infrastructure upgrades within the existing St John of God Murdoch Hospital Campus
Engaged via early contractor involvement (ECI) for the redevelopment works at St John of God Murdoch Hospital, Cooper & Oxley will be constructing a new multi-deck car park (MDCP), a central ring road and end-of-trip (EOT) facilities.
The five-story multi-deck car park will provide 1,130 additional car bays for both staff and visitors, while the new central ring road will streamline the hospital’s traffic flow and improve overall connectivity across the campus.
The development also features centralised shared-use EOT facilities for staff, including secure bicycle storage and electric bike and scooter charging stations.
Proudly supporting the State Government’s goal to accommodate the increasing demand of people requiring emergency care.
The project involves extensive upgrades and expansion of the existing Emergency Department (ED) and Clinical Toxicology Unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
The ED, which sees 77,000 patients each year, will include an upgraded entrance, waiting and triage areas, as well as a new urgent critical care unit for drug and alcohol affected patients and enhanced observation ward and ambulance triage facilities.
Substantial external works included new entry and ambulance bay canopies, and internally new AHUs and other major services, plus updating of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) zones and controls between various systems.
Working collaboratively with the State Government and our health partners, to deliver projects that strengthen services and support healthier communities.
This vital, multi-staged project comprises of demolition, modifications and additions to portions of Level 4 of G-Block to accommodate a new, fully self-contained Intensive Care Unit known as the “West Pod”.
The West Pod works include significant upgrades to building infrastructure to ensure enhanced capacity and capability, by providing additional ICU beds, upgraded medical facilities, and a modern environment tailored to the complex needs of critically ill patients.
Cooper & Oxley are simultaneously delivering the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Emergency Department & Clinical Toxicology Upgrades, with the new ICU Pod.
